Overnight oats are a practical make-ahead breakfast for busy weeks. The ratio below gives a thick, spoonable texture — loosen it with a splash of milk in the morning if you prefer it thinner.
Method
- Add oats, milk, yogurt, chia seeds, sweetener and cinnamon to a jar or container and stir well.
- Top with half the berries, seal and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
- In the morning, stir, add the remaining berries and enjoy cold — or warm it for 60 seconds in the microwave.
Cook's notes
- Make three or four jars at once; they keep for up to 4 days in the fridge.
- Use rolled oats rather than instant oats, which turn mushy.
Allergy note: Always check ingredient labels for allergens such as gluten, dairy, nuts, soy and eggs, particularly when cooking for others.
